We've had an exciting last few months to say the least...
We had a great "first" Thanksgiving, Jaxson LOVED everything!
Right after Thanksgiving, we had a baby shower (I didn't get any photos, dang it) and a baby!
{BIRTH STORY}
On Monday, December 2nd, at my 38 week appointment, my urine protein levels were high, my blood pressure was high, I had been seeing spots since for about a week... the signs of pre-eclampsia were back, as much as I was told it wasn't likely, it was happening. The doctor wanted me to come back Tuesday to get checked again, if I tested the same high levels or higher he was going to induce me. Levels were high, again. We were getting induced the next morning!
We had to be to the hospital at 7am, they began the induction. After starting pitocin and breaking my water the labor began. I was having really strong contractions and asked to get my epidural, the anesthesiologist was in surgery and couldn't get to me for about an hour... the contractions kept getting stronger and more painful. I was finally able to get the epidural around 10:45am, they checked me after and I was dilated to a 6, they said they would be back in an hour. They came back to check on me, I was at a 9 1/2! They had me start pushing, baby girl was "sunny side up", so they had me stop pushing and wanted to see if the contractions would flip her around. After waiting the nurse came in and said the doctor was on his way so we needed to start pushing, she had flipped over so everything went as planned. I pushed, pushed again and the nurse told me to stop... she was already coming with two pushes (lucky me)! We waited for about 45 minutes for the doctor to get there... I began to push again, about 3 minutes later little baby girl was here! When the doctor saw her head he asked if we were expecting her to have a lot of hair... we were hoping! We had two nurses and the doctor in the room with us, it was very intimate and we got to experience a wonderful birth of our daughter. Next question from the nurses as they were cleaning her... WHAT IS HER NAME??? We hadn't picked a name yet, we had 3 names in mind Gracie, Maci and Alexis - I knew what name Austin was going to pick, he had loved that name, I looked at Austin and said I know what name you're picking... MACI! So there we were with our little Maci Louise - 24 hours later we were taking her home!

Then Christmas came!
{our Christmas card}
It was both the kids first Christmas at home, last year Jaxson was still in the NICU so we were pretty thrilled to have TWO babies at Christmas time... it was a world of difference!
...and just because he's so cute...
We spent Christmas Eve at Austin's moms house eating and visiting, I had to get photos of the kids outfits :)
We set out cookies and coke for Santa and food for the Reindeer...
(Santa doesn't drink milk at our house, he gets the hard stuff... so we made sure he got two!)
Then Santa came!!!!...
Christmas Morning!
... I think he was happy with his new wheels!
BEFORE Christmas Jaxson turned ONE!!!! ONE!!!!
That has got to be the quickest year of my life! Jaxson is such a fun kid, he makes us smile, laugh and love life every day. He brings us so much joy! I cannot believe how much he has grown...
Here's his stats:
Weight: 25 (75%)
Height: 30" (50%)
His favorite word to say: No new words, but he gabs about everything!
His favorite thing to eat: Hot dogs and peanut butter
Number of teeth: 7
Favorite thing to do: play ball with Colt or feed him, walk along anything he can hold on to (he's not ready to walk yet, close), get into anything he shouldn't, have sleepovers with Grandma Debbie.
Favorite toy: Books, balls and wheels
Favorite color: Red
Other: Jaxson has been going through a rough patch, whether it's the adjustment of having a sibling or his age... sleepless nights, extra needy and has begun biting! He is still a great baby, don't get me wrong!
My little brother came over and did a little mock photo shoot of his cake smash...
Here was the real deal. I didn't get photos of the table set up, but we had a DOG themed little family party (life got a little crazy this month and I was not in the mood to plan a big party...)
He seemed a little frightened when everyone started singing "Happy Birthday", it was cute!
...but he loves cake!
...and toys!
Thank you to everyone that has been over to visit and made the last month so enjoyable! We have the best friends and family!
... and another one of Maci because she's so cute! Wearing her doggy outfit for Jaxson's party.
