Our hell.

Oops!  I mean...
Our bathroom remodel!

Well, it finally happened and we are just a hair away from being 100% finished!
Since I am too impatient to wait until it's all cute and decorated... and complete, here are some before and afters of our bathroom!  ... and if you haven't already heard the story, I'll tell you at the end of this post.

We installed a nice BIG cabinet instead of having a bigger vanity!

We randomly had a switch in the middle of the wall, I talked them in to one!

Needless to say, I am extra happy to have a nice, new, functional bathroom!
Eventually the cabinets will be stained a chocolate brown, baseboards will be installed and decor will be put up!

So here's the story...
Back in October we were away for the weekend on the elk hunt.  When we got home Sunday night Austin noticed our bathroom rug was just soaked when he stepped on it water just squished out of it.  Once we started looking around we noticed EVERYTHING had been drenched!  We have unfortunately encountered something like this before when the condo above us let there toilet overflow, so needless to say, I was SO grossed out, I started scrubbing down the bathroom with bleach!  I tried to get a hold of the neighbors to ask what had happened, no one answered the door. The next morning I had the day off, the neighbor came and told me that the shower pipe burst on the third floor, I was very glad to hear it wasn't toilet water!  Later on that week the HOA sent some flood hazard guys down to our place and they ripped out the drywall and insulation.  We had kind of been kicking around the idea of updating the bathroom, so since they had already started our remodel, I talked Austin into finishing it!  Everything was torn out to the studs, everything is new minus the toilet and tub!  Re-wired, re-plumbed, re-tiled.. EVERYTHING!  Yup, Austin and I are pro tilers!  We still don't have our house back to normal yet, but it's starting to!  Wahoo!  We can't WAIT to have it done!
